Updating customizable folder icons ??

When you right click on a folder (windows explorer), you
have a customizable option where you can change your
folder icon.
Is there a way to download or otherwise get additional
icons to use?

A google search on ".ico" should get you quite a few possibilities. Or
you can use an icon editor to create your own ("Iconforge" or one of
the several other editors). I find for folder icons that creating a
"multi-resolution icon" containing these sizes/colors works best:
16x16x16color, 16x16x256color, 16x16x32-bit, 32x32x16color,
32x32x256color, 32x32x32-bit, 48x48x16color, 48x48x256color, and
48x48x32-bit.
