updates

went through a mess a cpl months ago and ended up re-installing my XP home edition
Amongst everything else that needed to be re-installed was my IE 6
Was just going checking the update page and from what I gather is....if I've done these updates before (prior to re-installation) it won't promp me to re-install those updates again
Not sure if this is how it goes or not....but I thought my IE was up to par. But it's looking like it may not be that way.( Occasional errors which tells me my pc need to shut down IE

Is there anyway of finding out if IE has all updates or not besides the history that my windows update history shows
