Updates

Does anyone know how to get the updates from microsoft? I
don't want them installed directly on my maching, I want
to save them to a directory on my hard drive so I can
install them later as I wish. This is so I don't have to
wait to download them every time I have a problem with
windows XP which has been a lot. Mocrosoft doesn't allow
me to submit a question directly to them because my
software came from the distributor of my pc but the vendor
has nothing to do with updates to the os to try and keep
it running. Anyone have a suggestion?

Do what is called a network download. You have to enable Windows
catalog in your updatye preferences (on the Windows update web page).
