Update Windows Messenger in XP

Hi!

Is it possible to update the Windows Messenger 4.7 deliverd in WinXP Pro
(for a newer version)?

(I also installed MSN Messenger 6.0 but I want to keep Windows Messenger for
the Remote Assistance utility).

it was my understanding that MSN messenger and windows messenger were one in
the same...just different versions. if you wanted to upgrade from 4.7, you
should be able to do so using windows update. curious to see if that
helps...
