SyncBack v3.2.1.1

Overview :

Easily backup or synchronize your important files to another drive, FTP
server, ZIP archive, networked drive, or removable media. Highly
configurable, but extremely simple to use! Some of its many features
include integration with the Windows Task Scheduler, detailed and easy
to read log files in HTML format (that can be automatically emailed),
simulated backups, file filters, sub-directory selection, copy
verification, background backups, auto-close of programs, and much
more. Includes an extensive context sensitive help file.

What's New:

- Fixed problem of having multiple compression profiles running at same
time causing "File Open" errors
- When a scheduled task is created the 'Wake computer' option is
enabled by default
- Run before/after programs are wrapped in double quotes (if the folder
button is used)
- Can double click on profile in group profile screen to quickly
add/remove profile to/from group
- Sub-directory delete/create fix
- Fixed bug where UNC paths were not automatically created
- Fixed bug where a simulated run of a single zip profile would fail
with unknown error
- Fixed bug where a duplicate filter item could be added if it was same
as first item
- Fixed bug where profiles where not imported if they contained ']'
character
- Disk serial number shown in correct format in log
- Small memory leaks removed
- Window sizes saved correctly if maximized
- Other minor fixes and interface changes to support non-English
languages

Susan

I'd just like to clear this up. mjleaver.com is a mirror download
site, and not the official site. 2BrightSparks is the official site.

SyncBack is *not* Liteware. It is not crippled or have reduced
functionality, it does not have a time limit, it does not require any
registration, etc. SyncBackPro is a different product (that is not
even available yet). SyncBack is exactly the same as it was before we
started work on SyncBackPro, and it will remain that way. It is also
still being updated and supported. SyncBack is freeware.

Thanks

Hello Michael,

Liteware is not a pejorative term. Acf's Ware Glossary is here:

http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/acf/WareGlossary.php

ACF's definition of Liteware is: "free version of a commercial program.
A useful program that is more limited in features and functionality than
the commercial product. Liteware is not time-limited." Liteware is a
useful heads-up - it lets people know there are two versions of a
program - $ware and freeware.

SyncBack is listed here on the Pricelessware site (n.i. denotes a
no-install version):

http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/acf/P_SYSTEMUTILITIES.php#2622

Program: SyncBack
Author: 2BrightSparks
Install: n.i.
Ware: Liteware
http://www.2brightsparks.com/

Is the author attribution correct? (Both copyright holder and author
are shown when known.)

Thanks for posting.

I think Steven just says "freeware" or "not freeware" (meaning: this app
should be consigned to the lower depths of Hades). ;)

Yeah, right. SyncBack: no reduced functionality at all, but now
considered a lite version of a non-existent product. I'll get back to
actually writing freeware, and you can get back to pigeon holing other
peoples hard work with these ridiculous definitions.

It is when Stephen Burn uses it...

Which reminds of the the two beavers who thought that "beaver" was
perjorative; they wanted to be called vagina squirrels.
