Update Signatures

Everytime I update either thru win update or thru wd update it indicates that
updates were sucessful?....wd home page still shows not updated in 72 days?
I retry updates, same scenario...windows and wd show accepting updates but
back to square one?......I suspect interference from spybot sd and/or webroot
spysweeper?......very confused and lost on fix for this?

Go to http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=915105 and follow the instructions
there. It worked for me.

Thanks for responding. Had allready tried this and it did not work for me. I
did find a solution that worked for me: I uninstalled program, edited my
registry (I used jv16 powertools as editor) re installed the program
(carefully) did the update, the first time it did not take, tried update
again and now it is updated and functioning properly....Hope this helps
others....gilw in Denver.

I still have the original anti-spyware running on my office laptop and it
updates the definitions without a hitch. When I get to work I may look on the
latop to see if I have the original installation file and install it on my
home machine that has this "new and improved version".

This worked for me! We'll see what happens next time a Defender signature
update becomes available.

I had the same problem, defender would do an update then say it was now up to
date but it wasn't even the windows update did not work. I found a work
around, what you need to do is remove the signature registry key from
regedit. To do this I would first uninstall windows defender then open
'regedit', then remove the folder listed below:-

WARNING- backup the registry before you start, if you delete the wrong thing
it could seriously screw your pc.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\90A2CC5A3D9ECE9429D33078B4DBC4C2

Mine says same, then I run an upfate manually which indicates 'successful'
then noted in history that same update is listed everyday since abput 3-29-06
while b4 this date are listed a diferrent update as successfully installed
each day since install. I had thought that updates were installing but not
being reflecxted in the tracking counter...buit apperentl;y not.
My displaty keeps resetting itself to a default setting as well. I change it
and in a little while tt resets.
