Update Rollup 871260

I'm trying to install IE Update rollup 871260 on a couple of Win. 2000
machines. the prerequisite for the patch is IE 6.0.2800.1106 SP1. This is
confirmed and is the installed version. However the install fails with the
error that IE 6 SP1 is needed for the install. These are clean running
machines and are fully patched (except for this hotfix).

Any Ideas how to get the patch to install?

The error is telling you that all patches in the rollup already installed,
NCS.

Best to rely on Windows Update for the updates a machine needs instead of
picking 'n choosing ones you think it needs.

thank you - I thought this was going to take IE to build 6.0.2800.1415.

this is a patch that MS recommended to help a ISA server issue. Seems as
though ISA server and the new MS Update v6 are not playing nice.

thanks for the input!

Nope, AFAIK IE build remains at 6.0.2800.1106, NCS.

The machines all probably have MS05-025 (14 Jun-05,
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS05-025.mspx) installed.
It updates several IE DLLs (see Security Update Information > Internet
Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 for Windows XP Service Pack 1 and Windows 2000
(all versions) > File Information > Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 on
Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, and Windows XP
Service Pack 1). All of them supersede the versions installed by KB871260
(http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=871260).

In Win2K-SP3 & SP4, KB871269 installs:

Browseui.dll 6.0.2800.1577
Mshtml.dll 6.0.2800.1459
Shdoxvs.dll 6.0.2800.1577
Shlwapi.dll 6.0.2800.1577
Urlmon.dll 6.0.2800.1459
Wininet.dll 6.0.2800.1459

In Win2K SP3 & SP4, MS05-025 installs:

Browseui.dll 6.0.2800.1622
Mshtml.dll 6.0.2800.1505
Shdocvw.dll 6.0.2800.1658
Shlwapi.dll 6.0.2800.1612
Urlmon.dll 6.0.2800.1485
Wininet.dll 6.0.2800.1505

or

Browseui.dll 6.0.2800.1622
Mshtml.dll 6.0.2800.1506
Shdocvw.dll 6.0.2800.1658
Shlwapi.dll 6.0.2800.1612
Urlmon.dll 6.0.2800.1487
Wininet.dll 6.0.2800.1506
