I undated my sound device driver as the message told me to from Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI 128D (WDM) to Creative AudioPCI (ES13171, ES1373) (WDM) and it shorted out/stopped my sound altogether. What do I do?

Hi Lois,

Use System restore to restore to a point when it worked. One should
download drivers only from the manufacturer.

Or perform a driver rollback, go to device manager, right-click on the
sound card, choose properties > drivers > go back to an older driver.

Good luck

Have done that before and the sound did come one....however, why can I not update this and keep the sound? Isn't the new one supposed to be better?
