Is it possible to update a contact that appears in
several "groups" only one time? make it like the databases
are all connected? Or do I have to update each contact in
each group...even though it is the same contact in all of
them? Ie "basic group" "People who get mailed xmas
cards" "people who get mailed gift" etc.

When you say groups, what do you mean? If you mean that you have several
contacts folders: not really. This is one of the many reasons I don't
generally recommend using separate contact folders. Put everyone in one
contacts folder, and use categories to filter them - more like a relational
database. Right now, there's no connection between them.

If instead you mean you have a single contacts folder with several
distribution groups, and contacts are members of distribution groups, you
just change the contacts you wish, once.
