Unwelcome "Favorites"

Whenever and everytime I restart or reboot my system, the
browser opens to a site other than my default setting and
the "Favorites" drop down shows 10 undesirable sites that
I have never visited, i.e. hair removal, weight loss,
porn, etc.

How do I stop this behavior?

get a better browser with mozilla.org "firefox"

and in ie tools,options,advanced, uncheck both 'enable
install on demand',apply.

and download spybot safer-networking.org or ad-aware
lavasoftusa.com and update and scan.
