Unwatned double page printing

I have a header for letterheads followed by a continuous section break, and
then the actual letter starting with narrower margin settings than in the
header. When printing Word prints two copies of the letter (if single page),
one without the header just the body text of section 2, and one with the
header. Print preview does not show two pages, only one with header. I have
several templates/documents set up like this and nearly all do it whatever I
try. Any suggestions gratefully welcomed.

While I am not sure that it is what is causing your problem, there is no
need for the continuous section break.

I assume the reason that you have is is so that the letterhead only prints
on the first page. The proper way to achieve that is to use a First Page
Header. You do that by clciking on the Page Setup button on the Headers and
Footers toolbar (it looks like an open book) and then go to the Layout tab
of the dialog that appears and check the Different first page box.

If the reason is because of the different margins, you can achieve the same
thing by using negative paragraph indents.

Well, to begin with, (a) your letterhead should be in the First Page Header,
not in the body of the document, and (b) you don't need a section break to
change the margins because you can make the letterhead wider just by
applying negative indents to the header paragraph. See
