Unwanted quick launch bubble

I use WinXP with IE7.

Often I get a "Update Ready to Install" icon notice in my Quick Launch Tray.
When I click the icon to go ahead and install the update, a speech bubble
comes up telling me I can use other programs while updating. How do I get
rid of the speech bubble?

Click "Start", "Run" and type in "Regedit".

Click the "OK" button.

Double-click "HKEY_CURRENT_USER", "Software", "Microsoft", "Windows", "CurrentVersion", "Explorer".

Single-click on "Advanced".

Now, right-click on any white space on the right hand side of this window's box. When you do that, you see a little menu that says "New" expand that menu and select "DWORD Value"

All you have to do is delete the text called "New Value #1" and replace it with "EnableBalloonTips" ,<---- without the quotes.

Double-click "EnableBalloonTips" you just created, and edit the DWORD value to "0" <----- the number zero.

then click "Ok" and you can close the registry editor.

Just click on the bubble & when the download window reappears, minimize the
window.
