unwanted picture

I have a picture on the desktop that has no options to
delete it or minimize it or get properties. It covers the
wallpaper but windows will sit on top. I tried to
organize the shortcuts on the desktop but it had no
effect on the picture. I want to get rid of it. How do I
do that? Oh there is also a small .net passport sign-on
picture above it. They are just pictures, you can not do
anything with them.

It sounds like you have an ActiveDesktop item (web content) on your desktop.
Right click on the desktop, select properties, go to the Desktop tab, click
on Customize Desktop, go to the web tab, and then delete (or uncheck) any
items that you don't want appearing on your desktop.
