Unwanted columns in a fax download

I downloaded a fax template into Word and everytime I try to type into the
fax, the whole doc is split into columns that prevent me from using the whole
horizontal space. I thought maybe this could be a problem with the normal.dot
file, but when I open Word I do get a blank document. However when I try to
find normal.dot in search, it's not there even though my folder option/view
does have "show hidden files" checked.
Can anyone explain what's going on and how to get a fax template that is not
columnized.

You may want to pose your question to the Word newsgroup instead, and be
sure to mention the version and the template(and source) you are having
difficulties with.
