Hi,
I'm have an annoying problem with my WWW browser (IE 6.0)
in which the www address field is AutoCompleting as I
type text strings. I have gone to Tools > Internet
Options &:
* > Content > AutoComplete ...& unchecked EVERYTHING,
cleared EVERYTHING
* I have also Cleared History on the cover page for
Internet Options.
But while the Address Field transiently gets
cleared...there is a return & persistence of www address
AutoCompletion.
It's the darndest thing.
I haven't had this problem before on my computer. I'm
wondering if one of the Microsoft Downloads in recent
weeks has been defective....
-----
On the suggestion of some friends, I have also cleared
recent documents...I have even tried the (per item)
Delete key strategy.
It's still auto-completing www addresses.
Do you know what file these collected www addresses might
be resting in? I'd like to just take that file to the
Recycle Bin.
I'm wondering if any of my anti-spyware software may have
neutralized an important cookie?
One thing I have noticed is that the Web Addresses
checkbox sometimes gets re-checked spontaneously...as if
some program is overriding my preference and resetting
that default. But I only notice this a minority of the
time.
Also, I can clear forms and passwords--and that works.
But those www addresses keep auto-filling....
I still don't know why....
Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
Thanks!
