UNUSUAL PROBLEM

J

i have been running XP home edition for some time. All updates and
service packs are automatically updated. Recently windows will not
allow me to switch users. If I reboot I am allowed to logon to any
account, but once logged on, if I try to swtich, windows keeps moving
be back to the screen which lists users and associated icons. From
there rebooting or staying with the currently open account are my only
options. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All caps (used in the Subject header) is screaming. Do you often scream
at those from whom you want help.

Okay, so you reboot and login. You are now logged in under one account.
You want to switch to another account? How is Windows supposed to know
to which account you want to switch without asking you for your choice?
When you switch, you get a login screen where you can choose the other
account to login.
