unused icons

I don't want all my kids' game icons on my desktop. We each have our own user account, but if one of us adds or deletes a shortcut, it affects all our desktops. Surely there is a way to fix this???

Arrange the icons in the personal DESKTOP folders in C:\DOCUMENTS AND
SETTINGS\{username}. The ALL USERS\DESKTOP folder should be used for
icons that you want to see in all profiles.

folder and draged and drop them into it,one folder for
games another for computer tools...ect.cleaned up my
desktop nicely and made it easier to find what I wanted
