When I turn my computer on and then access through
Explorerer, I receive websites that offer a membership
that involves pornography. My concern is that my
grandchildren use my computer and are subject to these
adds.
How can I stop this from happening ?????????

Do a search on google for Ad-aware and Spybot - download them, install
their updates, do a scan of your computer and have them remove whatever
they find. Run a full virus scan with current virus definitions. Then,
reboot, open IE and make sure it has the correct home page set.

Carey, I'd not offer that spy hunter link to anyone. That software
really is bad software. My system went into an endless loop trying
to install it.

Agreed - it isn't good stuff, and it comes up with WAY too many false
positives - I think they're trying to scare people into buying something.
I'd stick with AdAware and Spybot.

Greetings --

When visiting porn sites, always be careful not to
download/install their "free" viewers. You'll get more than expected,
every time. To repair the current situation, uninstall the
"viewer(s)" provided and then use Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.de and
SpyBot Search and Destroy from www.safer-networking.org/ to clean up
any residue. Both have free versions for personal use.

You should also try using MSConfig to see if something is being
started each time you reboot.

Additionally, Look in the C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up and C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up folders, and in the
system registry, primarily in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys.
