Unseen PSP

Anyone find a solution for an unseen PSP?

In Vista (Home Prem) when I plug the PSP into the USB port, it is
unrecognized at all. Have tried different ports and cables and 2 PCs running
XP, only conclusion is that Vista doesn't see it.

Contacted Sony who threw the ball into Microsoft's court, would need a
driver from Microsoft, which would make sense if only the OS even saw it in
the first place to ask me for a driver (duh, Sony).

Has anyone encountered this problem and found a solution?

I don't think Sony have given you the right answer because my PSP is
recognised as soon as I plug it in.

When you plug in the PSP does it appear in Computer Management/Disk
Manager? If it does you may need to add a drive letter to it.

Just a thought.

Oh and you are selecting the 'USB connection' in the PSP interface once
you have plugged in the PSP? That isn't done automatically

Of course Sony doesn't know what they are talk about. This we all know.

The USB interference is active, the PSP is seen by my WinXP computers with
no problem everytime I plug it in.

When plugged into the Vista machine it is not seen at all, not even in the
Computer Management/Disk Manager. Normally when you plug in something new, it
will try to install the driver for the item, in this case it will not. The
ports all work and the cables works.

It seems to me Sony were right. You say yourself that XP can see your PSP so
the PSP is fine, XP is fine.

However, when you plug it into a Vista PC nothing happens, you already know
it isn't the PSP, you know the cables and the USB ports are OK so it has to
be the PC or Vista.

Have you tried all of your USB ports, in particular the ones on the back of
the case?

I've got a similar wierd problem with a graphics tablet. If I plug it in to
any of the three USB ports on the front of the PC it doesn't work. Two of
the ports don't even see it, like your PSP. One port does see it and
recognises it but it still doesn't work, the pen doesn't move the cursor
properly.

If I plug it in to any of the USB ports on the back of the case it works
perfectly.
