Sounds like expected behavior.

I get the dialog when I turn off my USB Printer.
Is that expected behavior?

I get that when I disconnect my all-in-one printer, which includes
memory card slots. Unlike USB thumb drives or other external drives,
there is NO icon in the system tray that I can use to disconnect it
first. It's mostly just annoying, as there is no card in it and nothing
hurt.
