Unrecognized cd-rw and cd-rom drives

My system using MS 2k Pro does not recognize my cd-rom, cd-
rw drives anywhere. I have seen the fixes listed with the
problems with Adaptec CD Creator and have performed the
registry changes, but still do have recognition of the
drives. Anyone out here who can help? Thanks.
