unread mail, but no mail in in-box

Ok, when I log off from my user ID it says that I have an unread mail in an
outlook express name that I deleted off. How do I get rid of it saying that
I have an unread mail in an account that I no longer have?

Is OE stating that you have unread mail or is it the XP Welcome Screen?
(Unread Mail notification in Welcome Screen has nothing to do with OE.)

To remove an account or to change the count manually:

Start>Run>Regedit>navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\[Your
E-Mail Address]. In the right pane modify: Message Count, Change it to 0.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail. In
the right pane modify: MessageExpiryDays Change it to 0.

Download and install TweakUI. Run TweakUI and click the [+] to te left
of Logon. Select Unread Mail, and uncheck the box labeled Show unread
mail on the Welcome Screen.

Hi, you can try my script who manage unreadmail (open, clear counter,
kill entry)
