In the process of cleaning up a grandparents machine (2 GB of spy\adware <G>)
I found that there are several folders in the Documents and Settings folder
that dot correspond to the existing user accounts. I used the SET command to
verify the proper folders for each user, but I'm leery of deleting the other
folders. For example there is an "All Users" folder, and an "All
Users.Windows" folder with the latter being the folder in use (I verified
this by adding\removing items to the Desktop sub-folder) and a similar pair
of folders for "Default User". There is also a folder for each user as well
as a folder with the machine name appended to the name with the latter folder
being the one specified when running the SET command. There is a
"LocalService" folder as well as a "LocalService.NTAuthority" folder, and a
"NetworkService" as well as a "NetworkService.NTAuthority" folder.
My question is, is it safe to delete these extra folders, or should I copy
them to a disk in case of problem?
TIA for any help,
Nip
