Hello,

My PC was working perfectly well until last night when its
shut down and when i tried to turn in back on again i got
this error:
WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO YOUR
COMPUTER
and at the bottom i get this:
Unmountable Boot Volume 0c00000...

How Can I sort it out?

THANKS A LOT BUT HOW CAN I BOOT INTO THE RECOVERY
CONSOLE?? AND MY XP IS ONLY AN UPGRADE SO I CAN'T USE IT

Use the XP CD. You may have to adjust the boot sequence via the BIOS setup
if the CD isn't recognised right away.

Sure you can. The XP Upgrade and 'full' CDs are bootable.
I HAVE WIN 98 THAT CAN BOOT THE MACHINE OF.

That may be of absolutely no assistance, and probably make the problem worse
if you use the W98 tools. The boot files are not the same.
ANY SUGGESTIONS??

Yes, boot from the XP CD and use the recovery console to fix the system.
Try Fixboot when you get to it. If you are using XP Home, when you are
asked for the password, try just pressing Enter.
