Unlocking a computer permenantly

I am using Windows XP professional and whenever I leave my computer
unattended for a while it comes up with a lock screen where I have to press
Ctrl-Alt-Del and log back in. What do I do to keep the computer from
locking?

Thanks

Assuming it's your computer, and you are the administrator, do this:

1.. Open User Accounts in Control Panel.
2.. Click the Advanced tab.
3.. In Secure logon, de-select the Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete
check box.

Go to Start>run and type

control userpasswords2

then the Advance tab. You then will see the option to remove the
CNTL-ALT-DEL option.

I already did that and it's still locking. Do I have to reboot the computer
for it to take effect?

try changing your screensaver to not require a password on resume, thats all
i can think of off hand.

Right-click your desktop and choose Properties, choose the Screen Saver tab,
and uncheck the "On resume, password protect" box. Also, still on the
Screen Saver tab, click the Power button, the Advanced tab, and uncheck
"Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby."

Possibly a screen saver setting: Right Click on desktop, properties...choose
the screen saver tab, and see if the box is checked "On resume, password
protect" If it is on, just turn it off

Did all that and it still doesn't work.

You can go to you Local Security Policy in Administrative Tools located in
the Control Panel. Then select Security Option, in the right-hand pane
locate "Interactive Logon: Do NOT require CTRL-ALT-DEL" and change it to
"Enabled".

Thanks for your help, I haven't tried to see if it works yet, but I do recall
I was playing around on the screen saver, so I'll bet that's the problem.
Thanks for your help. This is my first visit to this site and I'm sure it
will not be my last!
