unlock LiveUpdate antivirus from previous admin

I would like to use the Norton Antivirus LiveUpdate
feature (Symantec) on a standalone PC. The original
Administrator locked out this option. I am now the
administrator. How do I unlock this, so I can use it?
How do I undo the original administrator's lock? There is
no server involved at this point. Is there any reason not
to use this feature, and stay with the IntelligentUpdater:
essentially manual downloads from the Symantec site? It
seems that the LiveUpdate button would be the most
convenient approach.
