Unknown error with HTTP Mail

I am trying to configure Outlook 2002 to connect to a
University Web Mail account. Send seems to be ok but get

Task 'Stirling University: Folder:Inbox Downloading all
items.' reported error (0x80004005) : 'An unknown error
has occurred. Please save any existing work and restart
the program.'

error on trying to download items.

Tried to use headers but get;

Task 'Stirling University: Folder:Inbox Synchronizing
headers.' reported error (0x80004005) : 'An unknown error
has occurred. Please save any existing work and restart
the program.'

Would appreciate and thoughts.

What type of Webmail is the University using? Outlook can only connect to
MSN and Hotmail without third party tools.

Outlook 2002 appears to offer the ability to conect to
MSN, Hotmail and "Other". The university is using
SquirrelMail which is apparently IMAP compliant.

Then I would ask your school's mail admin for how to connect using Outlook.
