unknow folders, log files

I've recently notice a new
folder "C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution" which contains
several other folders: DataStore, Download, EventCache,
etc. Some of these folder have log files full gibbish.
I haven't rescently installed anything other than Windows
auto-updates. Can't find any info on Goggle as to what
this is. Is this a part of Windows? Or have I picked up
some Spyware or something somewhere?

That's leftover from the installation of SP2. It can be deleted.
