I just reintalled Windows XP and none of my usb ports detect anything. i
opened device manager and there is a yellow question mar over Universal
Serial Bus (USB) Controller, so i tried to update the driver but it says the
wizard can't find the necessary hardware. What do i do to get all this fixed?

Did you install the chipset drivers for your motherboard?

If you happen to have an Intel chipset-based motherboard:

Install the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility

USB2, by any chance? and what service pack are you running? You need
Service Pack 1, or higher for USB2 support.

Since this is a new install, the update driver wizard in the device
manager doesn't work until you visit Windows Updates, and intall the
ActiveX control.
