Unistaller Programs

My new computer with WinXP Second Edition is on the way! I am moving from
WinME.
In the past I have used a third party (Norton) Uninstaller Program (Clean
Sweep) to track changes that programs make as they install and to help
uninstall them later. Yes I know about the Add/Remove capabilities of
Windows, but sometime they do not work, and you do not know what they added
or if they took it all away.
However, it seems there are no longer any Uninstaller programs being
marketed. Does anyone know of any, or has WinXP got to advanced to utilize
these programs?
Thanks for any help and comments.

Hi, Lexus.

I think you'll love WinXP! One of the major improvements from prior
versions of Windows is that Add or Remove Programs DOES work now.

Actually, I think it's more accurate to say that Microsoft has been more
firm in their insistence that software vendors write their software to
comply with the Uninstall requirements. Just about every program nowadays
either has a good, working option to uninstall itself, or it uninstalls
cleanly using WinXP's Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs.

This is only one of the mindset adjustments that you will need to make in
moving from Win9x/ME to WinXP.

I used Norton Utilities since the days that Peter wrote them himself. With
Win98, SystemWorks was essential. With WinXP, I use only Norton Internet
Security; antivirus and firewall software are mandatory and Norton's
programs have done a good job for me. But with WinXP and NTFS, I no longer
need Disk Doctor, Windows Doctor, etc.
