How do I remove those annoying toolbars that seem to end
up on my friends computer? When I go to Add/Remove under
control panel they are not listed there. Help would be
appreciated.
thanks.

Works fine for me. Possibly a spyware is preventing access to mvps.org domain (thru HOSTS file)
Try: http://209.68.48.119/sramesh2k/toolbarcop.htm

And all the spyware removers below:
Lavasoft Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
SpyBot S&D - http://www.safer-networking.org/
(Spyware removers are rules-based and are updated very frequently as and when new malware is discovered. Therefore, update both of these tools before scanning, very important)
CWShredder : http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe
