Uninstalling programs

For 2 days now I Am unable to unistall unwanted programs
in XP. Whenever I click on the Change/Remove button the
following message pops up:
'An installation support file could not be installed. The
system cannot find the file specified.'
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Somehow you managed to delete the install log for the program. Without this
file, the uninstaller does not know what to do. The work around is to
reinstall the program to the same place, reboot, then uninstall the program.

Disk cleanup may be the ultimate culprit here.

Thank you very much for your reply. I have tried to
reinstall from the CD but that also gives me an error
message. Also, whenever I open Outlook the Windows
Installer window flashes! You are probably quite right. I
must have lost a file somewhere but I don't know which
one.
