Cannot Uninstall XP SP3 RC2 in order to install SP3 ( the real one

In order to install the final SP3 I have to uninstall SP3 RC2 which I have
been running for since it's release!

When uninstalling from Control Panel -> Add / Remove Programs all I get is a
message box stating "The system cannot find the file specified."
Running the uninstall manually and logging gives me the reason:
InstallSingleCatalogFile: MyInstallCatalog failed for kb900725.cat;
error=0x8e5e0402.

I have unistalled kb900725 manually but that changed nothing !
Ok - now what do I do ?
I'm pretty much left clueless !

Since this is a test machine - blow it away and use the knowledge you
learned from installing Beta Software on your test machine...?

If you used an integrated version (such as a slipstreamed cd) to install any
of the iterations of the RC then you are stuck.
