I recently had a hardware failure, something I didn't understand at first. So in my desperation, trying to find the error and making sure XP wasn't the "ugly guy", I setup another installation of Windows XP Pro on my second disk drive.
My setup is as follows:
c: contains my "normal" Windows XP Pro installation, the one I want to keep.
f: contains the second, "fresh" XP Pro installation, AND a lot of documents that I MUST keep (all these documents were on the drive BEFORE I installed XP Pro on it), therefore, I cannot format the entire drive. The installation on f: is the one I want to remove.
As it is now, I get to choose which installation I want to boot from when I startup my machine.
In a sentence, I want to know how I remove a Windows XP Pro installation without losing my documents on the drive.
I guess I could do a not so pretty uninstall deleting all system files, and edit my boot.ini on the c: drive, but that seems unsafe.
All help appriciated, thanks in advance.
