Uninstalling EWF

Hi

One of our customers wants to use a product of ours with XPe.
The product works perfectly on his devices when using XP Pro but there
are problems with XPe on the same device.
I suspect a problem with EWF (one component in our product is also a
filter that catches write events).
EWF is currently disabled (but still installed) but we still encounter
problems on the device when using his XPe installation (one of our
filter driver cannot AddDevice correctly, IOGetDeviceProperty on the
Add'ed Devices returns "No Such device"...).

Then I would like to COMPELTELY REMOVE EWF from the XPe system.
How can this be done (we are new to XPe and we did not make
teh XPe install by ourselves, we got it with the customer's device
on an IDE HD) ?

Thanks in advance

V.V.

Hi,

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{71A27CDD-812A-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}\UpperFilters remove line that reference EWF.
This should be enough to disable it for good. But you should search for UpperFilters with EWF in registry just in case that is
installed itself somewhere else.

Regards,
Slobodan
