uninstalling current operating system and installing windows xp

I have windows 2000 professional and I also installed
windows xp in my computer.

What I want to do is to uninstall windows 2000 and
install windows xp only.

I have all my files backedup but I dont know how to
uninstall windows 2000....Anybody out there knows how to
do this safely?

The XP CD is bootable and will let you format the drive during the
installation. Before you attempt this, read the following articles.
