Some time ago I downloaded a beta version of Micosoft Office Visio
Professional 2007 (Beta) [Version 12.0.4017.1006]
I did nothing with it, but recently Windows wanted to validate the
authenticity of my software for some reason. Everything was OK except for
this beta program, so I decided to uninstall it. When I did I got the
following error message : Setup Error
Setup cannot find the required setup controller file. Either there was a
network error, an error reading from the CD, DVD, or other installation
media,or a problem with the package you downladed. Any suggestions what to do?

Reinstall the program and then uninstall it.

I can't reinstall it as I don't have the relevant program anymore. I deleted
it after I uninstalled all the other 2007 beta programs. I simply wasn't
thorough enough.

Contact the makers of the beta program for help with their software
then. They will be able to tell you how to accomplish the complete
uninstall of their program.
