Install and uninstall of beta/new software - a tip

Sometimes there are issues involved in the install and uninstall of beta and
new software.

I bypass all such issues simply by creating an image of my system with
Acronis before installing, say, IE 8 Beta 2.

If I decide to go back to IE6 on this particular PC, I'd then restore the
machine itself to that stored image. Thereby avoiding all uninstall hassles
altogether.

I run SmartSyncPro everyday to back up Outlook, OutlookExpress, My
Documents, Firefox profile and certain other folders. An Acronis image is
created every other day besides. I generally keep in store the last three
images. Plus the fall-back ones like that mentioned here.

I cannot count the number of times these two utilities have saved my ass.
Takes the same time while I finish my coffee.

HTH. I apologize if I have stated the obvious here. But I keep reading about
uninstall issues pretty often! And, for almighty's sake, I'd not even dream
of installing any beta software on any of my systems without having a full
recovery option at hand!

An otherwise marine-layer topped Southern California morning here as usual,
thank you!
