uninstalled McAfee update

Mcfee has been installing aWindows XP service Pack 1 into my computer for 11 to 12 hpurs, the icon showing an arrow ,next to TIME has been blinging and I am warnrd not to shut off etc. I e-mailed MeAfee 6 hours ago no answers? Any sugesstions. Thanks
 
Why would McAfee be installing the Windows XP SP1 update? And it does not
tak anywhere near 12 hours to download and install it. Something is wrong.
