Uninstall

Ok.

I have to UNINSTALL Windows.

I do not need to do a reinstall, or the reapair reinstall.

I have tried the Add\Remove programs option, Windows XP
does not appear in the window.

I have tried formatting, which I can not do.

I have tried a ton of web sites, and the only way that I
found was to use a Windows 95 or 98 cd, which I do not
have.

I have tried all the Microsoft tech articles, and the
closest thing I found to it was "Uninstall and revert to
an old OS," I do not have an old OS, and I don't need to
do that anyway.

So, how do you uninstall, Windows XP Pro. There has to be
a way to do it, also a way to format my hard drive would
work too.

I need to format the drive to set up a RAID array, with
windows on it, but to do that, I have to uninstall and
reinstall Windows.

Please help, there has to be a way to do this.

Hi Kevin - Do you want to preserve any existing
applications and/or data? If so you will need to back it
up to another location (CD, Tape, etc). If you can't put
it somewhere where you can retrieve it, I don't have an
answer. Following the backup you can format the hard
drive and then reinstall Windows and the rest of your
applications from the ground up.

I just did that with my system. The Windows XP cd was
self-booting. It formatted the hard drive, asked if I
wanted to partition, and then installed fresh. Understand
that I had to back up anything I wanted to save prior to
formatting the drive cuz EVERYTHING was gone. By the way,
my cd was not from Microsoft, but OEM version from Dell,
came with my machine.

Hope this helps -- Kevin
