Can anybody tell me how to do it and go back to version
9? A restore point was never created. It finally did
uninstall after I did it in safe mode, but can't
reinstall 9. I get a message that a newer version of
wmplayer.exe was found and install is cancelled. I did a
search of my system for wmplayer.exe and the properties
all show version 9. I don't like 10 and want to go back
to 9. Need help please.

Run a repair installation of Windows, this will bring you back to version 8,
then you can reinstall 9 if you have a copy. Uninstalling upgrades to WMP is
not supported under any version. Using a restore point is the only way, and
if you failed to create one then you are out of luck.

If you cannot uninstall Mediaplayer 10 and have to do it by repair windows
then why was there an entry in ADD/REMOVE programs?
When I had wmplayer 9 installed I downloaded wm player 10 and installed it.
I did not like it so I wanted to uninstall it.
There was an entry in the add or remove list to do so.
I did.

I figured out how to uninstall 10, but WMP would not
revert back to 9. I tried to reinstall 9 manually and it
wouldn't.

Don't you get SUWIN errors doing that unless you rename WMP dll and ocx
files and the folder it is in? You do with Win ME!!

Not sure if this will work but I would rename the WMP folder to something
else and all WMP DLL and OCX files to their name plus .old on the end and
try it.
