Boot to your Windows 98 CD. When it asks, boot to a command prompt. Use
FDISK to delete all partitions on the drive. Create a new partition for
Windows 98. Reboot to your Windows 98 CD. Install Windows 98

Yes you can. just boot from a DOS floppy delete wipe the
Windows XP parition and start the Windows 98 setup from
DOS. You will lose all your data when you do this.
If this is a new machine that came preloaded with XP, you may not be able to
find any drivers for the newer hardware (video, sound, USB, firewire, etc.)
that is installed on the machine. Manufacturers of current hardware will
not normally write drivers for older OSs than was in effect when the device
was created, just like they won't write XP drivers for older hardware a lot
of times.
