Uninstall problem

I'm trying to uninstall some Logitech WebCam software so I can reinstall it
(so far it just wom't install and the installation stops at the same point
each time during Camera Driver installation, with the message 'Device Removal
Moduel has encountered a problem and needs to close'.) Various 'fixes' have
been suggested and tried without success. One possible fix is to uninstall
the software that has installed and try a reinstall. However, when I try to
uninstall, that doesn't work either and I get a message
'SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (462) Error Code -5001.

Can anyone suggest a way out of this problem? Thanks in anticipation.

Next time close down all your background apps as it was suggessted
before the install to avoid this problem in the future.

Thanks, I did that in the first place and have tried it again, and I've tried
booting clean, deleting .tmp files and .chk files, deleting the contents of
the Temp folder etc., but none of it has helped. I'm pretty well convinced
there is a glitch in the Registry, but don't know where, so don't know how to
fix it, and, so far, Logitech Support have been no help at all.
