uninstall of vista mail

because of a problem with my laptop, i have to uninstall microsoft vista
mail and all other programms.
if i do so, is there a chance to safe all my emails?
or are they lost for good?

Windows Mail can't export directly to external media.
Go to File, Export, Messages, select "Microsoft Windows Mail".
When the export wizard asks for the destination, point it to an
empty folder under Documents. When the export is finished,
copy that folder to your flash drive or other external media.
