There is only one way to "uninstall" XP.............format the drive which
will erase everything on that drive.
You can however do a "repair" installation which will overwrite your
ecxisting installation with all new files directly from the installation CD.
This however also requires you to download all of the updates that have been
released since your CD was issued.
Then there is the problem of SP2...if you have updated to SP2 you will not
be able to repair with a version of XP prior to XP2 ...you will need to
slipstream the SP2 update package into your XP CD onto a new CD and use that
to do the repair installation.
here is a website that details those events

have you posted your problems here to see if anyone can help? Formatting
your HDD and re-installing XP is the LAST resort, and is usually in nine
times out of ten, not required.

I think I posted my problem before but I don't know where it is. The reason
why I wanted to reinstall my windows xp is because I can't view chinese
characters with my computer which I bought just a few months ago. My friends
told me to go to view and encoding and click on chinese but the problem is
there's no chinese on the list. I got like thai, greek, vietnamese, etc but
no chinese so I thought reinstalling windows xp would be the solution but
it's a pretty complicated procedure to reinstall windows xp so I don't know
if I should do it.

Thanks in advance if anyone can guide me the way to install chinese
language...
