Uninstall and Reinstall on new hard drive

I am installing a new HD in a laptop and want to know what process i use to
uninstall and reinstall XP on trhe drive
 
Buy an external 2.5" drive enclosure with transfer software. The process
involves doing an image copy from the old hard drive to the new one
installed in the external enclosure and then switching the drives. When you
reboot you come up running as before. If you are buying a larger drive, the
software will take that into account. When you are done, you are the proud
owner of an external hard drive as well (your old one).
