uninstall 1 of 2 windows xps

I re-installed windows xp after it had become corrupt and wouldn't open.
Now I have two operating systems,the new one which works perfectly and the
old one that doesnt open.How do I uninstall the later?I have to choose
between them every time i boot up,the re-install didnt work as
planned.........
