hi, i have vista on my computer and when i save certain text to my
documents file or somewhere else, it saves it to word.... and i can read
it because it is in a readable form.... like english. then ido the same
thing to more text and save it and when i go back i cant read it, its in no
language i can rea, its in jibberish and has something to do with unicode?
PLEASE help me to me to undersatnd either how change jibberish into
english or maybe not having it saved to word at all. cause word does
this i have had to delete some important things i saved. and that is
frustersating thank you

First, my irrelevant comentary, you might consider upgrading from Vista to
XP. Then you're more likely to get an OS that will do what YOU (not Bill
Gates) want it to do. (less of Microsoft's faulty new mentality and false
intelligence)

For a different reason than you'd expect, I'd recommend you say more clearly
what's happeningn when you are "saving to Word". Aside from helping you get
help, it will force you to understand what your actions are at that point,
and your answer might immediately arise from there.

For example, what application (software) do you have that document open in
when you are saving it?

And, what do mean by "saving it in Word"? Do you mean that you're saving it
in Word format, or saving in the area / folder that your Word show you as
the default area?

Lastly, what application (software) are you viewing it in?

I suspect that after you answer the above you'll discover that the problem
arises from you looking at it in a different (and probably less powerful)
software than it was created in. For example, created in Word format, and
then viewed in a text editor. Not that that is alwyas a problem, but it is
probably the problem in your case.
