Unhiding Taskbar

Hi,

I use a computer at work. For some reason my taskbar decided to
automatically hide yesterday. I want to Unhide it, but whenever I
right click the taskbar, and select properties I get the message
"Operation cancelled due to restrictions on this computer". I assume
this is because I dont have administrator privellidges. Does anyone
know of anyway to stop the taskbar hiding (or unhide the task bar)
using only the basic user profile that I have. It's just very
annoying!!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Daz,
Right click The Start Button and select properties from the List or Press
the Win Key to bring up the start Button and right Click It.
On the taskbar and Start menu properties click on Taskbar Tab and uncheck
this Box:
[ ] Auto-Hide the taskbar <= Uncheck this box

[ ] Lock the taskbar <= check this box

Click Apply then [OK] to close and see if that helped.
Let us know.

Hi,

I have tried clicking both the task bar and the start button but both
give me the restrictions error message. I'm sure its because I dont
have administrator privellidges but there must be another way to turn
this option off!?!? It seems such a daft thing for administrators to
"protect".

Thanks for you ideas though!

Hi Daz,
If it been set by your admin then talk to them and get them sort it out for
you.
Try this but you will need sufficient privileges to do it?.
Open a run command and type in:
gpedit.msc click OK
On the Group policy do your changes, but please don't screw up on your Work
PC, if you don't have permission then as I said speak to Who responsible
about your Co IT.
HTH.
