Unexplained Shutdowns

I am running windows XP on a relatively new PC. The
problem is that at random times for no reason the
computer shutsdown instantley and i dont get a chance to
see an error message or error code. I also keep getting
programes i'm ruuning closed down and i dont know why.
I've followed advive from here and installed ad-ware and
spybots but they dont seem to have done anything to help,
can anyone help me PLEASE!
 
Have you tried checking the internal fans to make sure the unit is not
overheating?
